We're happy to announce the release of our new single fin model, the Drifan, designed, tested and perfected in conjunction with Mike Lay. This rigid foil model is now available online in three of our most popular colours Volan Blood, Glass Raw & Mustard Raw, in size 9.75".
We've left it to Mike to give you the low down on his new go-to single fin:
I have been swinging between the Macho Rudder single fin and the Macho Bow single fin for the last couple of years. Enjoying aspects of both fins but often left looking for a compromise between the surface area and hold of the Rudder and the flex and maneuverability of the Bow. After talking with Gonzalo about the way I wanted to surf and a process of R&D we have come up with my fin, a fin with hold but also dynamism through turns and the ability to push hard in the pocket. It has minimal flex and is designed with the more powerful surfer in mind, a surfer who is looking to combine critical noserides with driving turns.
Wise words from Mike there, and the positive pre-release feedback on the Drifan model has been coming in thick and fast, not least by Mike winning The Single Fin Mingle out in NZ and coming 4th in the MexiLogFest out in Mexico earlier this year with this new model.
