Superb

After having been surfing with a more performance style fin, the drifan has proved as a perfect compromise. It pivots well and holds the board when walking and still works for more flowy turns and trimming. I couldn't be happier with only having this one

After getting ibg my longboard and knew that Mike Lay had design a fin more specific to nose riding.
Tried it and loved it ! ❤️

Fantastic pivot-style fin for smaller days

Prior to buying this I had a 10" flex fin (4A shape) and a 10" hatchet fin for my Elevator. The flex fin is fast and turns easily, but there's something I don't like about the flex on such a heavy board, especially when walking back to the tail to turn. The hatchet fin has no flex whatsoever, and it's much more stable, with an incredible amount of hold when I'm on the nose. With slower/smaller waves though (knee-waist high), the hatchet fin can sometimes be "too much fin", and the board becomes stiff/unresponsive. The Drifan manages to combine the best properties of the two fins. It's stable, fast, turns easily, and has lots of hold when you're on the nose - I've had most of my longest hang fives with this fin. If you find a hatchet fin slightly too stiff, but still want the characteristics of a traditional pivot fin, I'd definitely recommend taking a look at the Drifan.

Great friendly service from Macho fins. Ordered while travelling with van and they got it delivered along my route. Gave some helpful advice about spots. Fin is great, been in the water plenty now along the north coast of Spain and in Scotland, perfect for a traditional log that you still want to try and throw around a little. Cheers guys!

Drifan 9,75

I bought a Drifan 9.75 fin in August 2019. Until then, my usual fin was a Greenough 4A and I was looking for a fin that would give me a bit more solidity in the nose in more vertical sections, thus compensating for the thick rail of the longboard which I was surfing then. I was willing to sacrifice the intensity of the turn a bit if I could be in the more comfortable nose instead.
When I tried it, it met all my expectations. Not only I was more comfortable on the nose; furthermore, I didn't have the feeling of having lost strength in the turns thanks to the shape of the fin at its tip. When I bought a new longboard, with a sharper rail, it ended up proving even more effective. I use it in all types of waves, regardless of their size and shape.
