Bali Blossom is available now online exclusively in our Bow model in sizes 9.75 and 10.5 - Anais' go-to fin model and sizes - and many of yours too as it's our most popular model.
We asked Anais about her inspirations for the design, and her feedback on riding the Bow on those beautiful Bali waves.
"I’ve always been fascinated by Nature. How it offers endless possibilities of flowers, colours, shapes. Nature is the strongest element around us. No matter what, she always grows back up. She helps us heal, she helps us connect with ourselves. I guess that's why I always get inspired by Nature’s elements or healing flowers to create my designs.
In Tibetan culture, flowers are considered a universal symbol of love, compassion and beauty. As a designer I always try to create things that can influence our daily health as well. In Tibetan art, flowers are abundant and always surround all the gods and deities to bring them good luck, love, peace and happiness.
The Bali Blossom design I created for Macho Fins was inspired by those Tibetan symbols of flowers and ancient tapestry motifs.
So then when we float in the deep sea, when we go out to find a moment of peace, a moment of joy, we are carried and supported by the magic of Nature. We are carried by the beauty of the Nature that surrounds us. Kind of a way to be thankful for what Nature brings us.
We decided to print those flowers specifically on the Bow fin, because it's my favourite shape of all time! I’ve always loved to give a lot of power and I make turns so I need a fin that holds well otherwise I just jump back and get thrown off the wave. The Bow is perfect for me and I think it’s a great fin to learn with as well. I’m still improving my surfing everyday and the Bow allows me to play around so much, making hanging and turning really easy on any kind of wave.
I’m so happy to have created a design for Macho Fins and to be able to ride it now - truly grateful for this opportunity!"
